Match Reports January 14th & 15th 2017

U10s played a friendly away at Clifford Juniors. The first set back was the lack of goals. In an attempt to steal a generator, thieves had damaged the lock on the equipment store, delaying kick-off until an angle grinder arrived. Once the football started we were slow to get going, narrowly losing the first two matches. We then stepped up our game, winning both remaining fixtures

After a nervous first five minutes U12s Dynamos dominated and beat Pannal Sports Tigers 7-1, scoring some cracking goals throughout the team. The only downer was conceding in the final minute. The win keeps us three points clear at the top of the league, and makes it nine straight wins.

U12s Girls Dragons continued their tough run of fixtures, having now played the top three teams in the league in the last three games. This weekend it was Poppleton Tigers, unbeaten since mid October, and the girls were magnificent once more. They played some really excellent football and absolutely dominated once again. Thankfully the girls got the result their recent performances have deserved and won 1-0. Our keeper only had one save to make all game as from defence to attack they all played exceptionally well.

U14s and U16s were both in Barkston Ash Junior Cup semi-final action. U14s triumphed 5-1 away at Garforth. After a slow start they performed well as a team, with two goals coming from corners. U16s suffered a disappointing 2-3 defeat to Tadcaster Magnets. Tadcaster scored from both of their shots in the first half to go two up. We pegged it back to 1-2, then missed a penalty, only for Tad go upfield and score from the softest of free kicks. Another goal for us brought the score back to 2-3, but despite several chances thereafter we couldn't save the game.

U13s Whites beat Bedale 3-2 at home. A deserved win in a game that could have gone either way. U15s squandered a 2-0 lead against Knaresborough, losing 3-4. U18s played away at Guiseley. Despite having only 10 players available and going 1-3 down on a very muddy pitch we came back to win the game 4-3.
