Richard rides for Uganda
Richard Jones, one of KDR's Under 8s coaches, took part in a monumental 4 day bike ride to raise money for 1moreChild - a small charity in Uganda that gets children from the slums off the streets and educates and clothes them.
Richard describes his adventure below:
I did it... just!
Despite horrendous storms and two dog attacks, one resulting in a big crash... I made it to Thessaloniki after 4 days, 400 miles and many mountains (that amounted to peddling up and over Everest).
On the ride I had the pleasure of getting to know Harry, who runs 1morechild, and now understand how much our contributions mean to the kids in Uganda.
So a huge thank you for your sponsorship, you made it all worth while. I promise I won't be doing anything next year!
Richard was one of the Ride25 Pioneers who, on the 25th of May 2017, started a 4 day ride across Italy and Greece. By the end of the ride, the group had ridden up 27,400 ft of ascent and cycled just under 400 miles.
All of Richard's costs were covered by his employer, so every penny of the sponsorship money raised goes straight to the 1moreChild charity. If you would like to sponsor Richard please visit his Virgin Money Giving page where you can find out more information about the ride and the charity.
